Botha vs Smith

Posted on/at 12:17 PM by Anonymous

Is it possible that Graeme Smith might not be fit to play the first half of the ICC Champions Trophy? He did not play the recent warm-up games against the Lions. I sure hope so. Lets give Captain Botha the lead.

"Graeme's elbow is healing well post surgery," Jackson was quoted as saying in Cricket South Africa's official website. "He is in week 11 of a structured 13-week return to full activity programme. He is currently batting against tennis balls and against underarm bowling with a cricket ball, together with intensive gym strengthening and boxing."

Come on Smithy! Don't let that member of the Nazi Army lead the Soufricans.

Smithy! Smithy!

Was that Bella calling herself Bon or Bon calling himself Bella?

Heehee, I was talking to Brandon and looking at the screen, my mind registered his name and I typed it again. (Where are you my brain?)

I've been away for a bit and wanted to catch up with all the comments, posts and news and trying to write something all at once. LOL

Looks like I cant do more than one thing at a time!

Botha can't be captain, he isn't even in the Test squad. Brandon's not thinking straight. He just has this personal grudge against Smith.

wow.... you changed everything because Amy's boyfriend got angry on the Bridgitte posts??

Bella, you've got a screw loose.

AB'sgirl Change everything, how? Are you talking about the message for leaving comments? I got tired of repeating this everytime and people don't seem to read all the comments before posting.

I regarded Amy as a friend and would rather not reply to Andrew's comment because I think it would be insensitive to do so.

When I read your response to that post as someone quite unlike the more deluded regular commenters you get Brandon, you didn't address any of Andrew's qualms at all. His problem was with what you said about Bridgitte Sarembock, not about Graeme Smith. It was also what Amy would have thought about it. I only saw this post today because I read Amy's blog regularly. Judging from what her friend Kate wrote about her, Amy would never have stood for that disgraceful post on Bridgitte.

Ask yourself whether if Amy had seen that post, she would have taken it lightheartedly. I think the answer's obvious, which is also why you didn't reply to Andrew. You had to know you were wrong. That post just encouraged the vicious comments and you called Bridgitte ugly yourselves so it wasn't just "Australians" like J who were saying those kinds of things. I'm an Australian too. Most of us would never say something like that about a gorgeous woman like Bridgitte whose only crime is to date a cricketer and have some private photos made public. How do you even know the background behind those photos? She could have been doing it as a dare or just for fun with some friends. She doesn't have to explain those actions to people or be called a slut for it.

The difference between your "no deleting comments" policy and Amy's is that at least Amy stopped people when they stepped out of line. I remember reading people calling Albie's wife hideous and Amy telling them to stop. You on the other hand encouraged those comments. You fed the fire by making that post in the first place and by encouraging those horrible comments by making some horrible comments of your own.

If I'd written a post like that, no matter how friendly my past online relationship with Amy had been, I wouldn't say I "regarded Amy as a friend". And it's pretty obvious from Andrew's comment that she wouldn't have thought of you in the same way after seeing that post.

I thought it was time someone with a level head stepped in and said something on this. Andrew was right to say what he did, and you were wrong to make that post. You can't shift all the blame onto the commenters by telling them to "comment responsibly" because you shouldn't have written that post in the first place, and when you saw people's responses to it, you shouldn't have joined in on the spiteful conversation.

I'm going to be asking Kate and Andrew to contact me because I really think they should get a look at this. Missy4AB has even said Amy made similar posts to the Bridgitte one. She obviously didn't and maybe her friends should explain that to you guys.

Jess, thanks for your comment, after reading it, it actually made sense. But I think you shouldn't blame Brandon. He didn't post it, I did. My name is at the bottom of that post. Thats what the difference is. People are attacking him for something I did and he did regard Amy as a friend. He did apologize in his last comment on that particular post even though I am the one who is responsible for it. It's not fair to attack him. He apologized and honestly I didn't think people would take it this seriously.

Bella,

All the same, I think my last comment on the Bridgitte post in reply to Missy4AB and Gert should be allowed through, and Andrew or Kate should be allowed to comment on this matter. People are seriously misrepresenting Amy. A person as good as her shouldn't have to have their name dragged through mud without someone defending them.

After my last comment on Amy's blog, her friend Kate has just sent me an email. She is speaking to Andrew and they will be saying something on this.

Team Botha all the way, if Johan get this chance he will bring us home the trophy, the best thing for us is if Biff sits out the tournament.

The only person who is dragging Amy into this is you Jess!!

Shut up Bella! You need to use your own username.

Jess, I though you were a personal friend of Amy's, but reading Andrews comments I see you are not. I am sorry but I think using Andrew and Kate's grief to promote your own views and defend brigitte sarembock was very low. I think Brandon has apologised and that should be the end of it. I come on here to read about cricket and it has deeply upset me that somebody would use peoples grief and such a tradedy as Amy's death, to promote thier feminist views and Graeme's latest girlfiend. Jess you should be ashamed, leave these poor people alone to grieve.

Botha is a Nazi, I would prefer hunky Smith to captain. And just on Amy, she would not have tolerated criticism of Brigitte because she was a feminist and didn't want women to be treated as objects. And that's fair enough and her perogative and most can see where she was coming from. I recall her comments about Marthmari and her horror when Albie was desperate for a boy, though in jest apparently.

Nonetheless, people are entitled to bag Brigitte Sarembock if they regard her as a fugly and she certainly doesn't measure up to the standard of the traditional WAG. I doubt I've ever seen an uglier WAG. When people are in the public spotlight, they're fair game, rightly or wrongly. I bet she makes money out of being with him so she has to be prepared for people to analyse her looks and behaviour, especially her antics on Facebook. And let's face it she does have a corny and provocative car numberplate.

But Botha has an ordinary looking wife as well. What have looks got to do with it? I admire Smith for dating an ugly woman which proves that he's not superficial.

Smith is hot, so disappointed he has hooked up with a masculine type.
