The aftermath
Pakistan was crowned the T20 World Cup Champions. Congratulations. Straight after winning, Younis Khan has anounced his retirement:
"This is my last Twenty20 game," he said at the conclusion of his press conference. "I'm old now for this kind of cricket...This final must go to Bob Woolmer," he said. "He was doing good things with us in 2005 and especially my cricket. I would be very proud if he was alive and sitting with me because he's a very nice guy and was a father figure for us. Why I am captain is because in 2005 - at that time I was not a regular player for Pakistan - he was the guy who all the time was chatting with the chairman and the selectors that Younis will be the next captain. So because of him I have became a captain. I dedicate this final to Bob Woolmer."
Tillakaratne Dilshan was named Player of the Tournament.

"Tillakaratne Dilshan was named Player of the Tournament" --> what for stuffing up the final?
I love him, I really do but...
I would like to congratulate Pakistan cricket team for their glorious performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2009. This year, they got the trophy. It proves that how much they were fresh and energetic. I think Indian players will feel sad after losing the trophy. Now, they will have to wait for more two years to regain it once again.
I know, what a disappointment that duck was.
I am just as proud of Pakistan. They really deserved it.
That duck wasn't disappointing guys. It was beautifully planned....by a 17 year old kid.
I still can't believe he's 17. Everyone cast yourselves back and think about what you were doing at 17? Bowling 90 mph in a World Cup final? Anyone?
I guess we were hoping for some better copetition for the Stanis, just to make the match more interesting to the rest of the world. But they outplayed Sri Lanka brilliantly.
