Regarding the Champions T20 League....

Herschelle Gibbs has picked the Deccan Chargers over his domestic team, the Cape Cobras. Looks like Biff & JP will be the only lonely Cobras.
Not really, other key players include Langeveldt, Ontong, Zondeki & Henderson.

But there is a bright side. The Cape Cobras will be compensated. "There is a provision in the tournament participation agreement wherein a team has to be compensated $200,000 if a player doesn't represent the home side in the Champions League," Andre Odendaal, the Cape Cobras CEO, said.

The Diamond Eagles will be the other team representing South Africa, curiously Dillon du Preez plays for them as well as Bangalore. Will he make a move as well? Other Saffas who will be playing in the league are AB for The Delhi and Roelof, Boucher & Kallis for Bangalore.

In other news... CSA has cleared Wayne Parnell to play the semi & final games for Kent.

Parnell started off 2/8 with his first 2 overs against Durham. Helping Kent defend a low total during the quater-final. The two finalists qualify as England’s representatives in the Champions’ League tournament to be played in India in October.

"This is great news for the club," said Graham Ford, Kent's director of cricket. "We are delighted to be able to bring Wayne back because he made such a big impact in our quarter-final win over Durham. I would like to thank Mickey Arthur, and the South Africa board, for allowing him to return. I'm sure that he will play a key role at finals day."
